The Principal Connection …

What path do you leave?

"Love one another; as I have loved you…"

John 13:34

Spring is upon us. I can see the effects of the winter in my back yard. With two rather large dogs who feel it is their duty to run back and forth along the fence, barking at every threat (children, other dogs, rabbits, meter readers, stray squirrels) I have a trail of bare ground worn away.

The winter has come and gone and the grass is beginning to grow, but the trail's still there, and reminds me my Max and Sammy with the lopsided grins and the way they come up for a snuggle and an ear-scratch.

We leave a trail, too. There's a trail left in the hearts of our family, neighbors, and the people we work and go to school with. What memories float to their mind when they think of you?

I pray that each one of our children at Trinity Lutheran School will be striving each day to leave a memory of Jesus' love touching the world through us. We know this can be achieved, not though preaching, but through letting His kindness and forgiveness flow through us, even if it's unearned or undeserved.

It comes through asking our burdened friends if we can pray for and with them. It comes by opening your heart, even if it will be ignored or unappreciated, because that's the heart our Lord showed the world through His Son.

Someone has said, "People will forget what you say, but they will never forget how you made them feel." I pray that God will grant each of our children the grace to leave their mark by sharing God's love in deed and word. Then, when their trail's done, there will be a smile that praises God for showing His love to the world.

We celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week May 5-9! We are specially blessed with our fabulous teaching staff! You are all invited to our Fine Arts Festival May 20 at 6:30 PM in the gym. Confirmation of our 8th graders will be May 18. We will not have school May 26, which is Memorial Day. We begin in May to wrap up school, which officially ends June 6.

We praise and give glory to God for the awesome blessings He has provided us at Trinity Lutheran School. God bless your month!

Serving our Savior in prayer,
