Why study the Bible?
I had a teacher once tell me that the Bible wasn’t meant to be read, but it was meant to be re-read. God’s Word is such an amazing resource that can be used at any age. Young children are able to learn and understand the historical events recorded in the Scriptures. As we grow, we are able to dig deeper into God’s Word as we glean more and more from the Bible as we continually read it. In fact, there is such depth in Scripture that one could never exhaust the rich depth and breadth of God’s Word. Even if one were to memorize the whole Bible, the application to our lives constantly changes and impacts us in different ways. God’s desire is that we read and re-read His Word!
At Trinity, we have a deep respect for God’s sacred Word and have a passion for learning and understanding it at any age and stage of life! If you are new to God’s Word, at Trinity we try to provide you with a love for Scripture as you begin to understand God’s plan of salvation spelled out on sacred page. For those who know many of the loved Biblical events, we rejoice in getting to move from knowing the “story” to understanding how you are a part of His story. For those who are well versed in God’s Word, we encourage you to continue to read and grow as you encourage others as an example and teacher. No matter where you are in your understanding of Scripture, Trinity seeks to provide a place where you can nurture a love for God’s Word, because “faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the Word of Christ” (Romans 10:17). We know that “all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Each and every day we encourage all Christians to search and study the Scriptures (John 5:30-46; Acts 17:10-15), because in them we learn of Jesus Christ who in whom to believe is eternal life (John 3:15-17; 5:24; 6:40-47; Ephesians 2:8-10)! As we are in the Bible, “the Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the Word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:8-9)!Join the family at Trinity as we study God’s holy Word and live it out in our daily lives!
